Varada

Plot: Varada, born in a lower middle class family, is raised by his mother. He overcomes many obstacles in his life to become topper in an engineering college. Varada's only aim in life is to take revenge against his father for deserting his mother.

Review: Varada faces humiliation at a tender age as society questions him about his father which irks him. Protoganist Varada is a nightmare for any person who wants to get married for the second time. This quality makes him a hero, especially among women, as they call him whenever there is a crisis in their lives. Even an NGO uses him to fight exploitation against women. Impressed by the virtues of Varada, Rachitha falls in love with him, much to her family’s chagrin.

Varada has all the commercial elements, including action, sentiment and romance, but an outdated content with medicore narration fails to live up to expectations. Except for a couple of romantic songs, even the music fails to add to the story.

Vinod Prabhakar is at his best as Varada and senior actor Charan Raj makes a comeback to Sandalwood after a long hiatus, shining in his portrayal of an honest deputy commissioner. Anil Siddhu proves a point in the antagonist’s role.
