Plot: Malavika, a single mother, ends up meeting Sathya, an employee in a five-star hotel, by accident. Her daughter begins to call Sathya her father and Malavika employs Sathya to play that part so as not to disappoint her father. An unexpected twist happens when Sathya learns the truth.

Review: With an intriguing title like srikrishna@gmail.com and with Nagshekar helming a romantic story, there was curiosity with regard to this film. The trailer showed the heroine as a single mother and the story as a little atypical. Does it succeed in standing out? Not quite.

This film is the tale of an unusual friendship between a rich and successful lawyer (we presume successful as she is always handing out tips in multiples of thousands) and a five-star hotel staff member. The lady chooses to employ the services of this gentleman to act as the father to her daughter, who takes a sudden and rather unconvincing liking towards him. What happens thereafter?

The idea of the film, from what has been said, is to tell a tale of an empowered woman and also show her viewpoint. While the leading lady is an integral part of the story, she's left more powerless than empowered and the premise upon which the entire twist and the conflict in the film is based on is unconvincing. The film looks good, with a good-looking cast and some stunning visuals. But the story is where the film falls flat.

srikrishna@gmail.com could have been a nice contemporary tale, but the eventual story is a cop out and the treatment of characters seems hackneyed. Rishab Shetty's cameo too does not add weightage as the role has little substantiation. This romantic tale promises a lot, but doesn't eventually deliver.
