Titled after a prominent Bangalore locality, Shivajinagara has ample dose of actions and emotions. However, the action-packed sequences overshadow the romantic bits.

The story revolves around Raam (Vijay) whose father Dayanand (Avinash) has borrowed around Rs 60 lakh from Shivajinagara don Fayaz (Ashish Vidyarthi). However, Dayanand is unable to repay the sum and is forced to commit suicide after being constantly harassed by Fayaz. An enraged Raam decides to lock horns with Fayaz and is successful in eliminating him. At this point, Fayaz’s son Mohammed Ali (Daniel Balaji) enters the scene and hatches a plan to kill Raam. However, he too is killed. The movie is full of gory scenes, with most sequences glorifying violence.

While Vijay, who dons the angry young man’s hat, is a thrill to watch, Parul Yadav sizzles on screen and does justice to her romantic role. M Selvam’s camerawork is laudable.
