Ravike Prasanga

Plot: Sanvi Sampaje (Geetha Bharathi Bhat) is a plump woman, who has had no luck finding a groom. After constant persuasion from her mother, she agrees to meet an NRI boy who ticks all her boxes. To impress him, she decides to wear her mom’s antique saree, and get a fancy designer blouse stitched from a revered local tailor, Chandranna (Sampath Maitreya). When the blouse doesn’t fit her, she decides to drag Chandranna to consumer court. Can Sanvi get justice?

Review: What lets Ravike Prasanga down is the length of the film. While the one-liners pack a neat comedic punch, the execution falls short to translate it into a 2-hour-32-minute movie. Director Santhosh Kodenkeri has tried to inculcate too many elements into the movie and is unable to do justice to any of them. Court scenes aren’t captivating enough. Overall, Ravike Prasanga is a missed opportunity to bring out an interesting slice-of-the-life film.

Geetha Bharathi Bhat is the only saving grace of this film. Her natural performance holds the movie together. Suman Ranganath is timeless. Geetha is gracefully aided by Sampath Maitreya, Padmaja Rao, Hanumanthe Gowda, Rakesh Maiya among others.

With better writing, Ravike Prasanga could have been a wonderful short film.
