Pranayam

Plot: Gautham (Rajavardhan), an NRI, heads back to India to get married to Amrutha (Naina Ganguly). The story begins post their marriage, when Amrutha gets abducted.

Review: Gautham, an NRI who has been living in the US, is back in his hometown in the Malnad region with the sole purpose of getting married to Amrutha. Both their families are happy with the arrangement and the two get married in the picturesque coffee estate. The newly married couple prepare to head back to the US together, but things take a turn when the young bride is abducted. There then begins the mystery - who has kidnapped Amrutha, and why, and do Gautam and his family find her again.

Pranayam is a film that begins as a romantic family drama, but turns into a thriller. However, not enough screen time has been dedicated to convince the audience of the growing bond between the couple and the transition of the storyline thereafter. Apart from the few knee-jerk moments of thrill in the second half, the film does not live up to the thrills it promises.
