Movie review: Aashirvad (Pratik Shetty) is a police officer who chose his profession as per the wishes of his family. Though he has not had even a single high-profile case, he is satisfied in his career solving petty cases. However, it’s not his professional life that’s the focal point of the movie but the drama that unfolds in his personal life. There comes a twist in the tale when Aashirvad discovers that the girl he loves fell for him for his profession and not for him. The hard truth doesn’t go well with the protagonist.
Debutante director Ravikiran deserves credit for picking a simple story of a police officer and narrating it with elements of comedy and love without exaggeration. However, the movie could have made more impact, had it explored beyond a certain region. That said, the director has shown promising signs in his first outing. Young actor Pratiek Shetty has done an impressive job in his first film and actors Arvind Bolar and Govindegowda’s comic timing keeps us laughing. If you are a fan of police stories, this might be a good one-time watch.
