Nithya Mandyam, TNN, Oct 5, 2018, 05.02 PM ISTCritic's Rating: 3.0Kotti Paise revolves around the lives of three people who have different agendas in life and are working together. They are all interconnect by their hunger for money. The film, which is in the North Karnataka dialect, is different from usual Kannada films.
Chetu and his three friends are unemployed and loaf around the village. One day, while sipping tea at their favorite chai shop, they meet a play director, who castes them in his play. Yemla is an old man who takes care of his daughter-in-law and grandchildren, as his son is away. Chetu, Master and Yemla all dream of earning money.
Chetu falls in love with a girl and wants to marry her, but because he is unemployed, the girl's family rejects him.
Master is disappointed as the boys are unable to perform without a lead actress.
Yemla is fighting every second of his life to fulfill his granddaughter's wish, until one day his health takes a toll on him.
This film brings out the reality of the problems that take place in a village, in a simple and humorous way. And it looks like director Kiran RK really has thought through the script.
If you are from North Karnataka, then you will definitely be able to relate to the film. If not, you will certainly have a smile on your face throughout the film. It is a good film to watch over the weekend.
