Khakii

Chiru is a cable operator, who stands up for all things righteous. He considers cop Chaya his sister and guiding star. But when Chiru faces the garbage mafia nexus, does he manage to emerge victorious?

That garbage mafia is real and that land sharks eye prime-location plots by converting them into dump yards is not uncommon. The film tries to tackle the multiple levels of authorities that join hands in order to help the mafia.

Khakii deals with how the common man can take on the system, and make public servants do their jobs. The idea behind making the film is right, but it doesn’t seem to translate well on screen, leaving a lot to be desired in a rather shoddy screenplay.

Chiranjeevi Sarja has given his best, especially acing the action scenes. Tanya Hope shows good improvement and has performed well. Shivamani looks menacing, but his character doesn’t seem to show his all. Dev Gill, too, seems underutilised.

Khakii could have been a good mass subject that dealt with a pertinent problem. But it falls short in a lot of ways.
