A conman and his sidekick decide to cheat an underworld don by selling him fake diamonds. In this ordeal lies a comedy of errors, with multiple characters and misunderstandings leading to an action-packed climax.

Comedies with a lot of misunderstandings and characters always make for a good plot. DK Bose had all the necessary ingredients to ensure it would entertain with its comic twists and quirky characters. Given that the film was set in Mangaluru, which is now increasingly finding its place in the geography for Kannada cinema settings, was another thing that was in its favour.

Unfortunately, the narrative ends up jumping between being a commercial film with an introduction song, a romantic sub-plot and massy elements, and the comedy of errors it originally set out to be. This is where the film, which is well under two hours, ends up being longer on screen.

The casting, though, is quite apt. The credit trap characters impress and there are enough laughs, too, especially towards the end of the film. One only wishes the filmmakers had stuck to keeping the film to being the comedy that it promised to be, as that might have worked much better.
