Chandralekha

A girl who is possessed by an evil spirit is rescued by her knight in shining armour. Perhaps, after a long gap, Sandalwood has seen the release of a horror-comedy movie (remake of Telugu movie Prema Katha Chithram) with director Omprakash Rao having done a brilliant job with the script and narration.

The story revolves around four persons who come to a guesthouse to commit suicide, but end up liberating the heroine from an evil spirit. Chandu (Chiranjeevi Sarja), Aishu (Shanvi Srivastav), Maharaj (Sadhu Kokila) and Pravina (Nagashekhara) are dejected and want to end their lives. While Chandu has been cheated by the girl who promised to marry him, Aishu doesn’t want to marry the man chosen by her mother. Maharaj has also been unlucky in love. Several dramatic developments unfold after the arrival of the four. Aishu falls in love with Chandu and Pravina prevents the duo from ending their lives.

But whenever Chandu tries to get close to Aishu, she turns violent. Pravina and Maharaj also fall victim to her attacks. She is possessed by the spirit of Chandralekha who was raped and ruthlessly murdered by three persons. The spirit wants Chandu to kill the trio. Is the hero successful? ​ While Chiranjeevi Sarja does justice to his challenging role as a dejected lover, Shanvi Srivastav delivers an equally impressive performance. Nagashekara and Sadhu Kokila bring some comic relief. V Ravi Kumar’s work with the camera is remarkable.
