Baddi Magan Lifeu

A pair of young lovers, after being caught once by the girl’s authoritarian father, decide to elope. They keep under cover, waiting for the girl to turn 18 in a week. Meanwhile, the father, a loan shark, is busy extorting a family, who end up in the midst of the chaos. Will everyone have their happily ever after?

Comedies that revolve around errors and misunderstandings are always a good choice for young teams making films on a small budget. Baddi Magan Lifu is one such movie, which is essentially a comedy of errors. The film has the basic elements in place, but the execution leaves very little to be desired and makes the team fall short of the finish line.

This film is set in and around Mysuru, with the title suggesting how it revolves around the misadventures that follow after a youngster takes big loans for the wrong reasons. Add to this mess an eloping couple and a tyrant father and melodramatic mother, and you have enough ammunition to generate that comical tale.

While some of the veteran theatre actors do well, the lead pair fails to hold its own in the important scenes. The film also has some unnecessary songs placed in the narrative, which could have been done away with to ensure a more brisk narrative. The film has scenes that can entice the gallery, but will only those be enough is what one ends up wondering while leaving the cinema hall.
