Arya's Love

Puneeth Arya is an example of youths who take to direction without knowing its arts and crafts. Puneeth’s first movie ‘Arya’s Love’ lacks imagination and has been done without logic or magic.

After the watching the movie, one wonders why Puneeth Arya chose film direction. He has failed to impress in all sections - script, narration or cinematography. He has killed a beautiful romantic story without knowing how to handle it. Poor camera work combined with sloppy editing and weak music by Ahbishake have spoilt a good story that could have been handled better with better preparation and a good script. Perhaps, the director could also have avoided ‘Yograj Bhat style’ in narration and dialogues, especially in the second half which is irritating.

Hero Jeeva (Shakthi) falls in love with his classmate Thanu (Sukrutha Wagle). He tries to impress her through various means, but fails. He also stages a drama where circumstances force Thanu to accept a rowdy as her lover. Later, she comes to know that it was stage-managed by Jeeva himself. She leaves him and goes away to her hometown. But Jeeva too follows her and goes to her place where he finds that she is engaged to another boy. The story takes a curious turn when we come to know that Thanu rejects Jeeva because she is suffering from an incurable disease and is counting her days. What happens next?

Shakthi Kumar shows some promise, but has a long way to go to prove himself as a hero. Same can be told about Sukruta Wagle.
