Appa I Love You

Plot - Appa I Love you follows the journey of Dharmanna who is deserted by his son and daughter-in-law during his twilight years.

Review - Rahul(played by Prem), an owner of an IT company, and Kavya (played by Manvitha Kamath) have been married for years but have been unable to conceive due to medical reasons. After consulting doctors, they decide to adopt a baby from an orphanage, where they encounter an intriguing character named Dharmanna (played by Tabla Nani).

The narrative then shifts focus to the life of Dharmanna, a hardworking 60-year-old middle-class man and widower, who has raised his only son Sanjay (played by Vikas). Despite Dharmanna's objections, Sanjay marries his colleague Sneha (played by Jeevitha).

Dharmanna readily accepts the marriage, only to find himself subjected to domestic violence by his daughter-in-law. Disheartened by Dharmanna's plight, his group of friends decide to initiate a legal battle to secure a dignified life for him.

Appa I Love You, centered around the relationship between a father and son, sheds light on the challenges faced by senior citizens at the hands of their children. However, its predictable storyline, which culminates in a courtroom drama, fails to leave a lasting impact due to its formulaic storytelling. The lack of intricate details in the courtroom scenes is a significant drawback. While the film portrays the harsh realities of senior citizens' suffering, its execution falls short. Director Atharv Arya tackles a relevant subject, but the treatment remains mediocre. Tabla Nani shines in his role as Dharmanna, while Prem and Manvitha deliver commendable performances within their limited screen time.
