2nd Half

Anuradha is a police constable, whose job is to oversee CCTV cameras. She gets intrigued by the life of a young girl, who is a free-spirited artist. In her newfound interest in spotting this girl on CCTV, she chances how the girl goes missing one day when a camera stops working. She sets out on a mission to rescue this girl.

2nd Half has an intriguing title and, on paper, has quite an exciting script as well. Between the screenwriting and adaptation on screen, there is quite some lost, as the film ends up being a rather slow-paced dull narrative, instead of the edgy whodunit that it is originally intended to be.

The film begins with an introduction of the holier-than-thou protagonist Anuradha, replete with a song and some insights into her character. The film then moves into the CCTV watch room in the police station, where she works as a police constable. She gets intrigued by a young girl, who is an artist and a free soul. Through her spying on the young girl, she also chances upon a young guy who seems to have taken a fancy towards her. Just when she begins tracking the love story, the girl goes missing. This case, which seems to be getting rather murky, becomes Anuradha's pet project. Will she be able to find what happened?

Priyanka Upendra has done an earnest job as the cop. But the narrative and the pace of the film let's the performance down. Newbie Niranjan shows promise, although his character could have been etched out better. The film unfurls at a sluggish pace and the songs in the film feel rather forced, too. This could have been an edgy thriller, but it doesn't end up anywhere close to being that.
