THE BOYZ's Haknyeon goes on a break; cites personal reasons as agency issues in an official statement

Haknyeon from THE BOYZ will be going on an indefinite hiatus and will be stepping away from any group activities for the time being. The idol’s agency issued a statement and shared that Haknyeon is going to be taking a break, and the boy group will continue with the ten remaining members.

On June 16, THE BOYZ’s agency issued a formal statement through their social media platforms to announce changes in the group’s schedule and lineup. They shared that Ju Haknyeon will be going on a hiatus. They stated in the notice that the member has decided to step away due to ‘personal reasons’.

Their statement read, “Hello, this is One Hundred. We want to inform you that THE BOYZ’s member Joo Hak Nyeon will temporarily halt activities due to personal reasons. We apologise for causing concern to the fans with the sudden news and ask for your generous understanding.”

As soon as the news of Haknyeon’s hiatus spread online, fans of the member and the group used their online social media accounts to express their opinions on the matter. One posted that “I think I'd worry less if I knew why Haknyeon’s on a break. It doesn't feel like a health thing…maybe something deeper. Wherever he is, I just hope he's okay. Love you forever, please don't worry, Ju Haknyeon,” while another shared that “I think it's a family matter. All the members weren't that happy during their Japanese fan meeting, especially Hakky. I hope he will settle things up smoothly so he can come back to us sooner.”
