PENTAGON's Hongseok becomes sixth member to depart from CUBE Entertainment; group confirms continuation despite label change

PENTAGON's Hongseok has become the latest member to depart from CUBE Entertainment, marking the sixth member to part ways with the agency after Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok left earlier this October. However, despite their exit from the label, all six members have confirmed that they will continue as part of the group. In the face of disbandment rumours, the idols took to Instagram to reassure fans of their ongoing commitment to PENTAGON.


CUBE Entertainment officially announced Hongseok's departure on November 6, expressing gratitude to their fanbase, known as Universe, for their unwavering love and support. The agency revealed that after extensive discussions and negotiations with Hongseok regarding his future activities, a mutual decision was reached to part ways. They acknowledged Hongseok's dedication and talent, emphasising his contributions since his debut with PENTAGON in 2016. CUBE Entertainment expressed their well wishes for Hongseok's future endeavours and called on fans to continue supporting him.


In response, Hongseok took to his own Instagram account to express his gratitude to CUBE Entertainment, his fellow PENTAGON members, and their devoted fanbase, Universe. He credited CUBE Entertainment for enabling his journey with PENTAGON, allowing him to connect with fans and create cherished memories over the past nine years. Hongseok concluded his post with a promise to showcase his continued growth in the future.


Back in October, when rumours swirled about PENTAGON's potential disbandment, Hongseok personally refuted these reports via his Instagram story, affirming the group's enduring presence and commitment to their music.


In addition to Hongseok's departure, CUBE Entertainment also confirmed on November 6 that BTOB, another prominent K-pop group under the label, had mutually parted ways with the agency. After 11 years of collaboration, the group decided to embark on new paths. BTOB initially debuted with CUBE Entertainment in 2012, gaining recognition for their impressive ballads and capturing the hearts of fans worldwide.
