In a landmark decision, the Seoul Central District Court has sentenced a man in his 30s to six years in prison for orchestrating an elaborate concert ticket scam, defrauding unsuspecting victims of hundreds of millions of won. According to reports from News1, Judge Lee Jong-min presided over the case and deemed the person's actions a severe breach of trust and financial integrity.

His fraudulent activities reportedly extended over 130 instances, where he exploited direct trading applications and online communities to dupe fans eagerly seeking tickets for popular artists like IU, BLACKPINK, and Lim Young Woong. The fraudulent transactions amassed hundreds of millions of won, leaving a trail of victims in his wake.

In 2022, he shifted his focus to IU's concerts, luring victims by offering to transfer concert tickets. Instead, he deceitfully acquired their credit card information, subsequently applying for card loans. Through a series of deceptive advertisements, spanning various items such as concert tickets, camera sales, game money recharge, and department store gift cards, the scamster managed to swindle a staggering total of 496.44 million won (approximately 363,000 USD) from 31 unsuspecting victims.
