iKON's Bobby enlists for military service sans public event

Today, the spotlight shines on Bobby, the talented rapper and member of iKON, as he quietly began his military enlistment journey. Amidst the backdrop of his recent personal milestones, including marriage in 2021 and the birth of his son, Bobby has been selected to fulfill his mandatory service as an active duty reserve soldier.


The anticipation surrounding Bobby's enlistment began to build when on April 4, 143 Entertainment, iKON's agency, announced via the group's official social media channels that both Bobby and fellow member Chanwoo would commence their military duties on May 21 and 27, respectively. Opting for a subdued approach, both artists decided to forgo formal ceremonies on their induction day.

However, in a recent turn of events, 143 Entertainment revealed a change in Bobby's enlistment date from May 21 to June 4. The agency emphasized the decision to maintain privacy and cited concerns over safety due to potential overcrowding. As such, no additional events are planned for Bobby's enlistment day, and the agency appeals for understanding from fans and the public alike.


Amidst preparations for military service, Bobby has been active in his music career, engaging with audiences across Asia with his electrifying performances. From impressing crowds in Osaka, Tokyo, and Manila during his tour since February to saying goodbye with a heartfelt concert in Seoul on April 30, Bobby has remained dedicated to his fans both locally and internationally.
