fromis_9 says farewell with a special single "from" ahead of contract expiration

This single, 'from', to be released on Monday will mark the last as K-pop girl group fromis_9 ends their contract with Pledis Entertainment by the year's end. December 31st. This farewell single serves as a heartfelt thank-you to their fans who are known so lovingly as Flovers and have been supportive since their debut.

Officially, Pledis Entertainment defined "from" as "a fan song in which the members express thanks." Member Hayoung also worked with the group to assist with composing the song, with the eight members, consisting of Saerom, Hayoung, Jiwon, Jisun, Seoyeon, Chaeyoung, Nagyung, and Jiheon, together in the writing of lyrics.

We wrote this song like a letter for flover, pouring our hearts into every word," said the members. "We hope it warms your hearts this winter and brings smiles and joy to your memories.

fromis_9 released in 2018 and rapidly won a loyal fan base with its discography, which spans all genres, from hits such as "DM," "Stay This Way," and "#menow." Their latest album, 'Supersonic', released in August, received domestic and international acclaim. The title track was included in many year-end lists of the best K-pop songs of 2024, including those of 'Billboard', 'PopMatters', 'NME', and 'Dazed'.

From marks the final release under fromis_9, who will leave Pledis Entertainment, a subsidiary of HYBE Labels managing Seventeen and TWS. In a statement on November 29, the agency announced that it had agreed with the members to end their contracts with mutual consent, marking the end of the group's activities under Pledis.
