BTS’ on Thursday, officially launched the tickets to their highly anticipated comeback - 'BTS World Tour Arirang'.
Millions of fans rushed to ticket booking sites and waited in long digital queues to get their hands on tickets to the biggest show of the year. Interestingly, within hours of the tickets going on sale, several fans noted that the tickets to some of the biggest concerts around the globe were 'sold out'. The frenzy around the band has reached an all-new highs, considering that it marks the K-pop supergroup’s first world tour since their 2022 hiatus to complete their military service.
BTS World Tour tickets sold out
The band will open their World Tour with three concerts at Goyang Stadium on April 9, 11 and 12. According to reports on Maeil Business, all seats for the Goyang shows were sold out during the official fan-club presale on January 22.
Ticket sales reportedly went live at 8 p.m. Seoul time, with Reuters reporting that some fans even travelled to South Korea just to book tickets with the high-speed internet.
BTS adds shows to World Tour
Following the strong turnout and response, BTS has confirmed one additional show each in Tampa and Stanford in the United States.
The Arirang tour will begin in Goyang before moving to the Tokyo Dome from April 17 to 18, and will then travel across North America, Europe, South America and Asia. The tour was initially scheduled to span 79 shows, but, with the newly added US dates it now expands the itinerary to 81 shows in 34 cities - the largest number for a K-pop world tour.
BTS eyeing Billion dollar comeback
As per industry reports, the tour has a lot riding on it. Billboard reported that BTS is set for a "billion-dollar comeback". The report estimates that Arirang could generate more than 1 billion in revenue from concerts, merchandise, licensing, album sales and streaming within 12 months.
The tour announcement followed the band's new album announcement and its subsequent March release. It will mark the group’s first album featuring all members - RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin and Jungkook - since 2022.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
