After 18 months of military service, BTS’ Kim Taehyung, who is better known as V, has returned to civilian life with quiet charm and a whirlwind of aesthetic adventures. His recent secret trip to Japan, revealed through a curated Instagram photo dump, offered fans a glimpse into his post-army mindset, all relaxed, reflective, and radiantly himself.

A swift escape, a soft return

On June 29, V was spotted at Gimpo Airport, sparking speculation about a low-key overseas trip. Just two days later, he returned to South Korea, confirming the rumours with a series of 18 photos from Japan. The trip was brief but brimming with personal moments, starting from food indulgences to fitness routines. The singer “was able to check out a lot of delicious food and loosen up,” while also squeezing in a workout session and a swim.

The photo dump that spoke volumes

V’s Instagram update included a shirtless gym selfie that sent ARMY into a frenzy, a red printed jacket look that screamed fashion-forward flair, a playful juice-box mirror selfie, serene swimming shots, and cosy restaurant snaps. Each image reflected his signature blend of elegance, humour, and authenticity and hallmarks of the ‘Winter Bear’ singer’s aesthetic.You can see the post down here.

Ballet, biceps, and balance

Post-military, V has not let go of his discipline. He resumed ballet classes and gym workouts, showcasing his toned physique and artistic side.
As Pinkvilla noted, “He has ensured he can maintain broad shoulders and toned muscles” since returning from service.

What’s next for BTS?

With all members now discharged, BTS is preparing for a major comeback. A new album is slated for spring 2026. Preparations begin with a mobile song camp in the USA, and a world tour is in the works, their first in nearly 7 years. Meanwhile, Jin has already launched his solo world tour, with stops in Japan, Germany, and more.
