BTS' RM cryptically addresses smoking controversy in solo comeback

BTS' RM recently unveiled his second solo album 'Right Place, Wrong Person' and it has been sweeping charts. While the singer is fufilling his mandatory military duty, his musical ventures are winning hearts. And fans have decoded a cryptic message too his one of his songs.

Fans pointed out that the third track in the album, 'out of love', features lyrics wherein the ARMY felt that RM addressed his smoking controversy.

The first verse in this song goes:

I’m just a pack of cigarette
I’m going to burn down all the love and the hate, the right, the wrongs
Even the godd*mn world I’ve been livin’ in for my whole life
Smoking kills, I know
It’s my f******g business, you b*****s stop, don’t talk sh*t

In November 2023, RM had inadvertently posted a photo of himself smoking a cigarette outdoors with a friend on his Instagram stories. Although he promptly removed it, he faced backlash for the act, given the stringent standards expected of K-Pop idols. Many argued that such behavior could negatively influence their youthful fanbase. Post the incident, RM had also addressed the uproar during a Weverse Live and stated, "It’s my life. …I’m just a singer.” Netizens are now reacting to RM's decision to include the smoking row in his solo track.
