The global K-pop phenomenon recently dropped the first concept photos for their upcoming mini album, DEADLINE, offering fans a glimpse into their next musical chapter. The photos were released at midnight KST on January 30, and the moment they dropped, the internet went into a frenzy—marking the start of BLACKPINK’s new era.
What BLACKPINK shared and the album’s visual concept
The newly released concept photos feature black-and-white close-up portraits of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. The visuals are minimal yet intense. The monochrome theme creates a strong sense of elegance and authority, with clean white outfits, polished updos, sculptural poses, and bold accessories adding depth without overpowering the frame.
The aesthetic hints at a more mature and controlled sound, while carefully keeping the album’s musical direction under wraps.
A long-awaited comeback after a global tour
The reveal comes shortly after BLACKPINK wrapped up their massive world tour, which included 33 shows across 16 cities, once again proving the group’s unmatched global appeal. With the tour behind them, attention now shifts fully to their comeback.
'DEADLINE' is scheduled to release on February 27 at 2 pm KST (10:30 am IST). The mini album marks BLACKPINK’s first group release in nearly three years and five months since their 2022 album, Born Pink. The long gap has only fuelled anticipation, making every update feel significant.
Balancing group power and individual freedom
In December 2023, all four members renewed their group contracts with YG Entertainment but chose not to extend their individual contracts. Since then, each member has been actively pursuing solo projects.
