A childhood memory once shared casually by
Kim Jisoo has resurfaced with new urgency after police in Seoul confirmed an investigation into her older brother. The renewed attention follows a viral clip from 2018, where the BLACKPINK star explained the origin of the scar above her eyebrow. The video spread widely again on April 21, just as details of the separate criminal allegations began to circulate.
Jisoo's childhood scar story trends amid controversy
Reports cited by allkpop trace the clip back to a livestream on the now-defunct V Live. In the video, Jisoo said, “I got this scar because of my brother.”
She described an incident from when she was five. Her brother warned her that smoke from a disinfectant truck was dangerous and “like a demon.” He told her to run to higher ground. While pretending to block the smoke with a jump rope, he said, “Don’t worry, I’m your brother,” and rushed her forward.
Jisoo said she panicked, ran uphill, and hit her head on a railing. “I was covered in blood. I injured my head and was bleeding from my head and face,” she said. When she cried out, “Oppa! I’m bleeding!” she recalled him responding, “So what! Just run!”
After the truck passed, she said he told her, “I saved you.” She also remembered people reacting with shock as she walked home, saying, “Oh my, what happened to her?” When she told her brother she was badly hurt, he replied, “It’s okay, something worse could have happened.” Her family later treated the wound at home without a hospital visit.
Brother under investigation police confirm
At the same time, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station is investigating Jisoo’s older brother, identified as Mr. A, on allegations of forcibly molesting a female broadcaster. According to allkpop, Jisoo’s legal team issued a statement on April 20 to separate the artist from the case. The statement said the matter is “entirely unrelated” to Jisoo or her label, Blissoo. It also noted that she has lived apart from her family since her trainee years and that no relatives are involved in the company’s operations.
Her legal team added it will take strong action, including defamation lawsuits, against the spread of false information as the investigation continues.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
