Hollywood personality Margaret Zambonini and filmmaker Indira Dhar come together for a film
Margaret Zambonini is a Scot residing in Cape Town South Africa with her husband. She has travelled extensively, lived in many countries and has visted India many times in the past. Her travels have helped her garner a great knowledge of other cultures.
This knowledge and experience is something she brings to her work in the film industry where she produces, develops scripts and mentors young filmmakers.
Covid and the actor and writers strike in the US has rapidly changed the industry with an uncertain future, but the situation has also helped level the playing field for smaller production companies. They can now enter the market with wonderful smaller budget films. Margaret believes these companies are competing well with the big studios, and there's now room in the market for both types of productions.
Recently, Margaret became interested in co-producing and script development with Indira at Cannes film festival. The film is based on the true story of a brave mother and son. The narrative resonated with her so much that she wanted to get involved with the project. After a few video chats she was onboard and feeling passionate about the story and script. She feels this film needs to be made at this time, especially since with the world in such turmoil.
To bring the story alive it requires excellent actors who could express the true depths of the emotions in the film. Indira knew the right actors to play the roles and Margaret trusted her judgement. "What has been filmed so far has been amazing and it will continue with greats actors such as Divya Dutta, Neeraj Kabi, Rohan Bhattacharjee, Rishabh Sawhney and other," says Margaret. She feels honoured to be part of what will be an amazing and heart wrenching movie with a very powerful message that the world needs to hear and will resonate far and wide.
