Actor
Salim Ghouse and son
Aaryama Salim
will present
Dastangoi
in the form of a play this weekend. Dastangoi is a set form of storytelling but here they are attempting a different kind of Dastangoi with the actors alternating between narration and acting it in a dramatised form. The play '
Dastaan-e-Dil
' will have two solo acts in
Urdu
language.
Aaryama will enact the characters of Tilism-e-Hoshruba which has adventures of Emir Hamza, the popular Persian hero with the story talking about how children and their innocent nature should be nurtured. Salim's act is the story of Hindustan Jannat Nishan and talks about India as a country and its history. The play is described to be a heart to heart; a tapestry of comedy, tragedy, satire, history & poetry. A kaleidoscope of emotion. A mirror about ourselves - past, present and future.
Directed by Salim Ghouse, the play is written by SR Faruqi, M Farooqui and M Kazim, and produced by Anita Salim.
