Continuing its legacy to promote theatre and encourage the art form, Powerbuzz hosted an event featuring the classic play The Mousetrap written by Agatha Christie, directed by Aamir Raza Husain, along with his wife Virat Husain, and presented by the internationally recognised theatre group Stagedoor. The event saw a rare gathering of bureaucrats, technocrats and media personalities among the audience, with names like Najeeb Jung, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, his wife Ameena Jung, daughter Nada Jung, Harsher Singh, his son-in-law, Vinod Rai, chairman of the UN Panel of External Auditors and Ashok Chawla, chairperson, Competition Commission of India, in attendance.
Known for its nail-biting twist at the end, The Mousetrap is the world’s longest running play – it was first staged in London in 1952, and continues to be performed till date. In 2012, the play completed 25,000 shows. The play was staged to encourage theatre and to commemorate Powerbuzz’s sixth year of establishment.
