Play Macbeth came alive in Urdu in Lucknow

An Urdu adaptation of William Shakespeare's famous play, 'Macbeth', was staged in Lucknow, recently. Directed and adapted in Urdu by Dharam Shree Singh, the three-hour long play had the audience not leave the auditorium even once.
"I was nervous initially whether people will like the new concept of such a famous play, but later the overwhelming response from Lucknow audience filled me with happiness.

It took me around a year to translate the whole play in Urdu and about two months to prepare the actors," shared Dharam Shree, the director.

Akash and Himanshi, who played Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, respectively, surprised everyone with their performance, while Shubham, who played Banquo, earned a lot of appreciation for his acting.
