Play Astitva emphatically depicts the struggle of a woman

The play 'Astitva', depicting the struggle of a woman in the male-dominated society, was recently staged at Nagari Natak Mandali, Varanasi. Directed by Amit Shrimali, the play revolved around a theatre artist, enacted by Rekha Sisodia, who is unable to get a role in a play since she is a woman. She then reminiscences the instances where she had been denied a lot of opportunities because of her gender.The powerful performance led to a loud round of applause from the audience.
