NSD artistes’ outstanding performance at BNA

The auditorium was packed to its capacity. So much so was the craze among theatre lovers in the city for the play that a few didn’t mind standing up to watch it. The play was based on the story Bayan that was written by famous Indian writer Mahasweta Devi. It highlighted communities living in the lower strata of society and being deprived of basic human rights.

One character among them was Chandi Daasi around whom the story revolved and showcased her day to day hardship.
Apart from Daasi, the characters included Joshi, Kaali and Chumki which were portrayed by Bornali Bora, Sampa Mandal, Meenu Devi and Sakshi Sharma, respectively. “It feels good that artistes from
