The play was a Hindi translation of acclaimed playwright Vijay Tendulkar's Marathi play Pahije Jatiche by Vasant Dev and was directed by Rajinder Nath.
The comedy play started with the lead character Mahipat, who gives a biographical sketch of his life. He talks about accomplishing the only one thing he aimed to do in his life, completing MA before dying. The play focused on how Mahipat lands a job in a university but ends up being an educated unemployed young man. "Of all the comedy plays written in any Indian language I know of, I consider Jaat Hi Pucho Saadhu Ki as the best," said Rajinder Nath.

Other characters in the play included Sina, Ishwar Bhai, Laundry Wala and Hanuman Seth which were played by Suresh Sharma, Raju Roy, Moti Lal Khare and Siddheswar Kashinath Thorat, respectively.
"The play had me in a rollercoaster of laughter. It was worth watching this two-hour long drama," saidPratyaksh.
