Tajmahal Ka Udghatan

' to his audience. While the first play was all about

Shah Jahan

trying to build the Taj Mahal in today's times, where bureaucracy rules, the sequel follows

Aurangzeb

, as he attempts to complete his father

Shahjahan

’s dream project: the Taj Mahal. However, these are worse times than before and the project is still stuck in the throes of bureaucracy.

While Vrajesh Hirjee plays the character of Aurangzeb in the play, the rest of the cast includes Amit Behl, Bakul Thakkar, Lubna Salim, amongst others. Says Lubna who's also the producer, "We just thought that we need to say things and express about all that’s happening these days in the society. Definitely everybody’s affected and there’s no better medium than theatre to say what we want to say and do. We are not passing comments on anyone and anything, we are not judging anybody but we are presenting our hilarious take on what’s happening in today’s time through the eyes of Aurangzeb. In the sequel, Shah wants to prove that he’s a good ruler and then someone suggests to re-open the Taj file. We take off from there with a light-hearted comedy."
