We earlier informed you that Gurgaon boy and actor
Anshuman Jha will be playing the lead in the Bollywood musical 'Jhumroo' and the shows would begin in January. But it seems that Anshuman is not yet ready to get into the character of Jhumroo as his preparations are far from over. We have now learnt that the shows, starring the Love, Sex Aur Dhokha actor, will now begin in February.
Anshuman explains, “I had two releases recently and that’s why I couldn’t catch up with the rehearsals. I am not yet fully ready to step into Jhumroo’s shoes. I am also busy shooting for 'Robinhood Ke Pote.' I will take another couple of weeks to be ready to play that challenging role. So, it could very well be my Valentine’s Day gift to Gurgaon.”
Apart from films, Anshuman has acted in a number of plays. “I have worked under the likes of Barry John, Quasar Padamsee, Joy Fernandes and Jaimini Pathak. Also, I represented India at Contact-World Theatre Fest in 2010 with my play Dirty Talk. But there’s nothing like performing at home. In a way, I will be making my theatre debut in front of Gurgaonwallahs and I will leave no stone unturned in my preparations. This delay is because Jhumroo involves a lot of dance and wire work in addition to acting, and this is the first out-and-out musical that I’m doing, so I better be fully prepared. I am a month late, but I will give a memorable tribute to Kishore Kumar and I am sure audiences in NCR will love it.”
