debuted back in 1958. Recently, theatre personalities including Meeta Vashisht, Priyanka Setia and Ram Gopal Bajaj gathered for an exclusive reading of the play, performed by them. Sangita Jindal went on to speak about the best written word in India that is found in the depths of our culture, society and amongst innumerable languages and how theatre is telling the story of India from the multiple lenses of diversity.

, a theatre personality kicked off the evening with a warm and moving reminiscence of Girish Karnad to whom this evening was dedicated to. While recalling Tughlak, Girish Karnad's breakout play, Dolly shared, "Today is also a dedication. A dedication to someone who again used his voice and his prose to tell a story of our country. This evening is also our dedication to Girish Karnad." Meeta spoke about the timeless appeal of Asadh Ka Ek Din and recalled the time when she practiced a stirring monologue from it for her National School Of Drama selections and how she could even now recite it from memory and also cry at one particular line which summarised the human condition so beautifully.
