According to Piyush, good lyrics will last forever. During a recent interview with a media outlet, he insisted that lyrics should not be written but heard. He also feels that it’s the lyricists’ fault that we are not seeing good simple lyrics because the industry now looks for the easy way to make a song hit. The lyrics have become cheap. The songs are being created in a more less budget and these songs are becoming popular among the audience who doesn’t care about the words.
According to the acclaimed songwriter, lyrics shouldn’t be too heavy but the words have to be politically correct for sound. He also pointed the example of Kishore Kumar’s song ‘Chil Chil Chilla Ke’ and said lyrics don’t have to come with a deeper meaning always. Instead, they have to be apt for the song.

Meanwhile, Piyush revealed that he came onboard for ‘Chakki’ only after hearing that Indian Ocean is also a part of it. Piyush says he enjoys collaborating with Indian Ocean since there’s no hassle. Also, there are some of his lyrics which others can’t even speak but with Indian Ocean it’s a completely different level of work experience.
