Udit Narayan to Sonu Nigam: Singers we want to see make a comeback

Songs are an essential part of Bollywood films and it would be impossible to imagine the industry without mellifluous singers belting out some melodies. Sometimes it so happens that the songs become more of a rage than the movie. Singers with their voice, give recognition to the actors as well as the film. The voices of some singers are so soothing that they tug at the strings of the heart. However, a lot of these singers have gone missing from the scene. Here is a list of few Bollywood singers we would to see make a comeback on the music scene...

Kumar Sanu

Known as the ‘King of Melody,’ Kumar Sanu was one of the leading singers of Bollywood during the ‘90s. The versatile singer reportedly holds the Guinness Book Record for recording the maximum number of songs in a day, which are 28. Kumar Sanu is well known for his melodious voice for the songs in films like Aashiqui, Saajan, Baazigar and Deewana. In 2009, the Government of India awarded him with the Padma Shri for his contribution to the industry. According to Huffingtonpost.in, he has been largely absent from the Hindi film industry since 2008. It was in the year 2012, he made a comeback with the song, Chammak challo chhail... from the movie, Rowdy Rathore. Also, in the year 2015, he sang two songs for the movie Dum Laga Ke Haisha. The songs from the movie transported the audience straight into the ’90s, when Kumar’s songs were a hit. He was appreciated and his fans definitely want to hear more songs from him.

Kavita Krishnamurthy

Sridevi’s fame as the Hawaa hawaai girl is all thanks to this nightangle. Kavitha Krishnamurthy is the golden voice behind the very famous Mr India song, Hawaa hawaai. She had even won the Padma Shri Award in 2005 for her outstanding contribution to the field of music. The singer has been missing from Bollywood for a long time. Sonu Nigam

Sonu Nigam needs no introduction. A man with a mellifluous voice, Sonu can do justice to most genres with equal ease. Be it a love song, happy song or sad song, Sonu can easily modulate his voice to suit the character of the actor that he is playing. Though he is not completely missing from the music scenario, a singer of Sonu Nigam’s caliber deserves to be heard more.
