Priyanka Bose met Sting in Milan while doing a photocall with celebrity Hollywood lensman Fabrizio Ferri, known to shoot the likes of Naomi Campbell, Susan Sarandon, Julia Roberts and Monica Bellucci. It was a dream-come-true for Priyanka Bose. First she got rave reviews for her performance in Italo Spinelli’s “Gangaur”. Next, celebrated Hollywood lensman Fabrizio Ferri, who has photographed the likes of Naomi Campbell, Susan Sarandon, Julia Roberts and Monica Bellucci, did a photoshoot with her for the Italian Marie Claire.
As if this wasn’t exciting enough, she then went on to meet Sting at a private dinner with Fabrizio. The actor, back in Mumbai now, is happy basking in the warm glow of being a part of nothing short of magic.
Says Priyanka, “When I was first given this offer for the interview and the shoot, I checked out Fabrizio’s website and was awestruck by what I saw. Every picture of his has a magical quality. His nudes are aesthetic and honestly capture the rhythm of a human body. One of my favourites is a family portrait of Sting. I had never seen such a beautiful photograph before.”
Talking about Fabrizio’s style of work, she says, “He told me that all his photographs have always “just happened”. Just like magic can never be planned. And I understood that while the shoot was on. My styling was African, wild and sexy. I wore new collections of Donna Karan, Gucci and Versace but Fabrizio didn’t shoot any nudes with me,” Priyanka recalls.
Fabrizio is a great conversationalist, says Priyanka, adding, “He spoke about my role in “Gangaur” and we discussed “Guzaarish”, where I did the song, “Uri uri”, with Aishwarya. He is married to a ballerina so he knows a lot about dance. He invited me for dinner at his daughter’s place. And guess who I met there? Sting! He and Fabrizio are great friends. My husband, Paresh, is part of Kailash Kher’s band, Kailasa. Paresh told me that it isn’t fair that he is a rockstar here while I got to meet Sting.”
Over dinner, music, of course, was an important part of the conversation. “Unlike many others, I am not too fond of “Desert Rose”. For me, Sting is all about Police. As for Indian music, Sting wanted to know about the kind of music Paresh and Kailash do here,” she says.
Priyanka is currently shooting for a television show, “Parindey”, produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s company. The show is based on a children’s remand home and has newcomers between ages 17 and 22 as part of the cast. ““Parindey”’s script was unlike anything that was offered to me in the past few months,” she signs off.
Working with Italian celebrity photographer Fabrizio Ferri for a magazine photoshoot has left actor Priyanka Bose awestruck. “Fabrizio’s photographs are natural, simple and organic. I love the fact that he works with dancers and actors a lot, which makes his work more dramatic. He makes women look like goddesses. It proves that he loves the women he works with”.
