When lady luck smiled on Rajnigandha Shekhawat
Little did Rajasthani folk singer Rajnigandha Shekhawat know that her caller tune would prove lucky for her and get her work from none other than Shaitan director Bijoy Nambiar. But if it wasn’t for actor and friend Anjana Sukhani who kept Rajnigandha’s song Mumal, a Rajasthani pop slow ballad, as her caller tune, she wouldn’t have got that call from Nambiar.
Rajnigandha says, “After listening to my song, Anjana put it as her caller tune only to promote me.” As luck had it, Bijoy called Anjana and when he heard the caller tune, he inquired about the singer.

On knowing that it was a folk song, Nambiar expressed his desire to talk to the singer.
Rajnigandha says, “Bijoy has an ear for alternate music, which, when presented in his unique way becomes mainstream. His appreciation is a big deal for me. True to his word, I’m now working with him on the show Rush, where I have sung Mumal and Kesaria Balam and shared the stage with singers like Shweta Pandit, Shruti Haasan andKolaveri Dicomposer Anirudh.”
