Legendary composer R.D. Burman (Pancham Da) noticed Sonu Nigam waiting and told him that if Kumar didn’t show up soon, he’d let Sonu sing the song. Sonu later revealed that he quietly prayed for Kumar to miss the session. Unfortunately for Sonu, Kumar Sanu arrived just in time and recorded the song.
