Srushti Tawade: 'A mistake I made in 2023 was letting my writing process be guided by external factors' - Exclusive

Recently, 'Main Nahi Toh Kaun' fame singer-songwriter Srushti Tawade in a conversation with Etimes, reflected on her 2023 journey. While talking about the highlights of her year, the artist emphasized that every day that she lives brings a new high for her, and she loves it.
"The highlight of 2023 for me would have been, I earlier assumed, the time when I released my album or when I worked on several other projects throughout the year.However, I think the main highlight of the year for me is the present day that I am living. I feel very liberated from any expectations, and I love this," said Srushti.

In the candid conversation, Srushti also spoke about how her writing got influenced by external factors this year, and now since she knows better, she is all geared up to make a change. She stated, “A mistake I made in 2023 that I regret and feel could have been handled better, is letting my writing process be guided by external factors. This cost me my most precious thing— the joy of doing what I love, my joy of creating.”
“It has taught me a valuable lesson, and in 2024 and the future, I won't let that happen again. I'll stick to my writing process, think and visualize things the way I want, and rely on myself. I should have done that in 2023, but now that I've learned the lesson, I'll make sure to follow through in 2024," she added.

Nevertheless, Srushti ended the conversation by telling us the song of 2023 for her. She said if she had to pick one of her own, it would be ‘Dahi Shakkar.’ She said, “I truly believe this song reflects how I prefer to handle various situations. It's not just about romantic breakups; it encapsulates my approach to dealing with negativity and problems in general."
“Throughout the year, 'Dahi Shakkar' has served as my go-to song whenever I needed to lift my spirits and bounce back after facing challenges," she concluded.
