Ankit Tiwari was arrested in May 2014 for allegedly raping a 28-year-old woman. The woman accused him of raping her repeatedly between October 2012 and December 2013 on the pretext of marriage.
In the midst of the entire brouhaha, Ankit had filed a discharge application in the court claiming discrepancies in the complainant���s allegations. However, the latest update on the case is that Mumbai's special women's court has dismissed the discharge application of the popular playback singer-composer.
Earlier this year, the special women���s court imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Ankit for seeking an adjournment and delaying the matter. For the uninitiated, a month after his arrest in May 2014, Ankit was out on bail. Last month, Ankit had applied for discharge application in the Sessions Court and the alleged victim had decided to challenge his appeal at the hearing on May 9, 2016.
