Singers want to act too

While KL Saigal was the first singer-actor to make it big in B-Town, Kishore Kumar, had people loving him for his comic timing and then going gaga over his yodeling. However, in the recent past the singers who tried to make it big as actors couldn’t hit the high now. But that hasn’t deterred them from trying their luck. While some have tried, some are all set to try their luck in front of the camera.
Sonu Nigam: Sonu began his acting career as a child in movies like Betaab.After becoming a popular playback singer, he gave acting another shot with movies like Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, Kash Aap Hamare Hote and Love in Nepal. However, none of the films did well at the box office. Rumor has it that the actor will try his luck once again with a film soon.
Himesh Reshammiya: Himesh began his career as an actor with Aap Ka Surroor that actually did decent business at the box office. However his next few releases like Karzzzz, Radio-Love on Air, Kajaare and Damadamm failed to make a mark the box office. But the actor has given up on his acting dream yet.
Bappi Lahiri: Lahiri recently made his acting debut with a movie titled It's Rocking Dard-E-Disco. The movie got bad reviews and didn’t fare well at the box office.
Shaan: Few know that Shaan actually made his debut in Bollywood with Kalpana Lajmi’s Daman that had Raveena Tandon in the lead role. In the movie, Shaan was cast opposite Raima Sen. However, this did not lead to anymore roles for the singer. He will now be seen in the movie titled Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya, which is a comedy.
Mika Singh: Mika, who has sung many popular Bollywood numbers, has been seen in some videos made to promote the films he has crooned for. However, the singer will now make his debut in Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya, which also stars singer Shaan.
