Singalong: Tu kaun hai, bey?

Many times there are some interesting stories behind the making of a song.
Like the words of the number Ek do teen from Tezaab were just words used to fill up the gaps when the music was being composed. Now, we hear a song from the film Mohandas was inspired by a cross connection. Lyricist Vinod Kumar Sonakia has penned the lyrics for the song that has been sung by Kunal Ganjawala.
Director Mazhar Kamran had called Sonakia to discuss the lyrics for the song, suddenly they could hear another voice on the phone. The director asked the stranger, ���Tum kaun bol rahe ho?��� To which the man replied ���Tu kaun hai bey?���
The director and lyricist disconnected the phone and dialled again, to congratulate each other! Thankfully, this time there was no cross connection. They had found the opening line they were looking for. The song had been on their minds for sometime and they had now hit upon the first line ��� Bol tu kaun hai bey? Finishing the rest of the song didn���t take much time after that.
