Shivanna pays tribute to MJ

The Sandalwood King — the latest title given by the makers of Mylari to the film’s star Shivrajkumar — has done a take on none other than the King of Pop in his forthcoming flick.

BT got a sneak peek at the posters of the Hat-Trick Hero’s latest film, and one of the looks Shivanna sports is of MJ.The actor wears a white tee, white shirt, and a pair of embellished gloves. “Shivanna has sported this look for a special track in Mylari. He’s a huge MJ fan, and this song was shot during the same week as Michael’s death anniversary. So we thought, ‘Why not attempt an imitation of MJ himself?’,” says producer Srikant.
“Shivanna is popular for his dancing skills and generates a frenzy among his fans when he grooves on-screen. So, we felt it would be ideal to portray him like MJ in this sequence,” adds Srikant. The actor has even tried to copy the pop icon’s trademark moves, we hear. “The number was choreographed by well-known dance director Anthony Pradeep, who’s a Puri Jagannath favourite. He has to his credit hit films like Yamadonga, Bujjigaadu and the recent Golimaar,” says Srikant, adding, “Even in his 40s, Shivanna never shies away from trying something new, which is why we love his spirit.”
