Shekhar Ravjiani turns mentor

As a judge on a reality music show, musicianShekhar Ravjiani made a promise to an 8-year-old participant, Sugandha Date, that irrespective of how she fares in the competition, he will mentor her. And several months after he made the promise, Shekhar has fulfilled it.
A source told TOI, “After the competition, Sugandha went back to her home town in Nashik and continued with her day-today life.One fine day she got a surprise call from Shekhar who asked her to visit him in Mumbai to start her lessons. She came down to the city for a music sitting with Shekhar yesterday.”
When contacted Shekhar confirmed the story and said, “Sugandha is really talented and I want to share with her my knowledge of music that have acquired over the years. I met her at the studio yesterday and I told her to drop by every month whenever she is free from her schooling.”
In the past, Alka Yagnik found her mentor in Laxmikant-Pyarelal who guided her and gave her an education in music.
