The Namak Issq Ka singer will perform in the city at a concert organised to celebrate 175 years of The Times of India You started this year on a festive note, and continuing the celebration is The Times of India, as it turns 175 years old. You’ve been part of our every endeavour, and we’d like our readers to join us in the celebrations, too. So, on January 12, Bollywood singer par excellence, the lady who has given many soulful hits to us to hum,
Rekha Bhardwaj, will take the city on a musical high, as she regales Jaipur with her soulful voice in a concert organised by The Times of India.
And though she needs no introduction,
Rekha is known both for her playback singing in Bollywood as well as her repertoire of Sufi renditions in her distinctive singing style. She also got the National Film Award for the Best Female Playback Singer for the film Ishqiya in 2011. Rekha has given Bollywood a number of hits. Remember the husky-voiced Daarling in 7 Khoon Maaf, or the very rustic Namak Issq Ka from Omkara and Sasural Genda Phool in Delhi 6? Then there was the masti bhara Oye Boy Charlie from Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola... and Ghagra from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, not to forget her very famous non-filmi Tere Ishq Mein...
Well, if you have sort of listened to these songs on a loop and have hummed them for the rest of the day whenever you’ve heard them, then this concert (the venue is the SMS Investment Ground, opposite Rambagh Palace, Bhawani Singh Road. The programme starts at 6.30pm, entry starts at 6pm) is a must attend for you. Wondering how can you be part of this musical journey?
You can collect your complimentary invite from The Times of India offices at 8-9 Anupam Chambers, Tonk Road or 3rd Floor, A-34, Prabhu Marg, Raja Park on a first-come-first-serve basis from 10am to 5pm.
