Reality shows rigged? haven’t heard any such thing: Christina Aguilera

International TV show The Voice has landed four Emmy nominations, beating American Idol that’s got three nominations.
All eyes are now on The Voice 3, first and exclusive on AXN, which will be a double night premiere today and tomorrow at 6 pm, telecast the same week as the US. Popstar Christina Aguilera — one of the judges on this Mark Burnett Production, along with Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green — is excited.

In an interview with TOI, she speaks of reality shows and more...
What’s different in this season of The Voice? What about the quality of singers?
This season will NOT disappoint. First the blind auditions will be longer, teams will be bigger
and we have added the surprise where coaches can take a member of another team if they get kicked off in battle. And the performances are going to be amazing.
What about friction between the coaches? How do you deal with that?
We are like a family and families at times bicker, but this season we are really having fun and things are better than ever.

Reality show winners get their 2-minute fame and eventually fade into oblivion...
I don’t always think that is true. The show gives talent the ability to showcase in ways they would never have and exposes them to millions of people. What they choose to do after the show ends is up to them. I know many Season 1 performers have released albums, some have toured and others are working on projects. So the journey doesn’t end when the show is over.
What about critics who allege that reality shows world over are all rigged?
I haven’t heard such a thing.
India has some interesting singing reality shows too...
I would love to see some of the shows and see what formats people in India respond to and the talent that comes from them.
