Musician, performer and reality television star Priyanka Negi left for her Dehradun home to be in quarantine with her family. And now, the 'Awara Corona' singer is making the most of her spare time doing two crucial things - making music and learning how to cook.
During a recent video interview, the young artiste told Bombay Times, "I am a big-time foodie and I have been learning how to cook from my mother.
I have learnt how to cook Kadhi Chawal, Rajmah Chawal, Chapati, Dal, Kajar Ka Halwa, Sooji Ka Halwa and lot of other things. Mooh mein pani aah rahaan hain mere abhi (chuckles)… So yes, I can say that apart from music, food is the other thing I dearly love."
When we asked about her latest single - Awara Corona - Priyanka revealed that it was her father's idea to make a song about the deadly virus in order to educate people. She had said, So it’s about the time when the first lockdown had just started and I had come down to my hometown Dehradun. I was jamming with my younger brother and sister as thy also sing and compose music. My dad came in our room and he gave us an idea about creating a song on
Coronavirus. He said, ‘why don’t you spread awareness and educate people; do your bit.’ So we started brainstorming and we were conflicted between whether we should write new composition or go with old tune and new lyrics. So, finally, we made a parody and went with the second option. It was realised through a music label’s video sharing platform and people really loved it. We were surprised to see their reactions. Before we could share it on our WhatsApp groups, people already had our video on their phones. So it was a great experience creating ‘Awara Corona’."
