Pitbull’s pitstop

This year’s been a musical celebration for India, with artistes like Metallica, Lady Gaga and Bryan Adams performing here.
And joining them this month was Armando Christian Pérez, better known to us as rapper and singer Pitbull. Before coming to India, Pitbull had said, “I’ve heard fascinating stories about India and its people. The wait is finally over and now I’m excited to bring my live show to India.I cannot wait for my fans to join me.”
During his India tour, Pitbull performed in Noida, Mumbai and Pune, with teenyboppers and college-goers forming a majority of his audience. Explaining why his new album was titled “Planet Pit” – because he felt as if the world was his right now – Pitbull also spelt out why it’s important for an artiste to be ‘Mr Worldwide’. “I’m catching a lot of people’s ears, whether it’s with my music or appearing on someone else’s track. When “I Know You Want Me” took off, I started travelling the world, and I saw the impact a global hit can make – the way it brings people together. So I’ve set my goals even higher.”
“Of course he’s set his goals higher. That’s why it took us eight months to work the logistics and everything to get him to India! But his team was also very keen on exploring India as a market,” says Utkarsh Bansal, director, P3P E Ventures Pvt Ltd, who’s also brought artistes like Edward Maya, Flo-rida and Sean Kingston to Delhi. He adds that the artistes benefit the most when they travel to India, raking in the moolah and garnering plenty of publicity. India’s obviously important to Mr Worldwide!
