Piracy makes Bappida angry

Southern hospitality impresses Bappi Lahiri
Piracy makes Bappida angry
Southern hospitality
Any trip of mine to Chennai is incomplete without the mandatory culinary indulgences. Something I have never been able to resist is the medhu vada. I keep telling my friends back in Mumbai that there is a certain sense of poetry in the making of vadas. And on a weekly basis, we have idlis and dosas for breakfast.
Unforgettable time
I was once performing in Puducherry.
1x1 polls
And we had done a variation on Kaliyon ka Chaman. And the crowds just went delirious. That was when I realized how some tunes just can’t go out of style.
Pulling factor
I keep back coming to Chennai, not just for professional reasons, but to pay a visit to some really close pals. Many producers here have a long standing association with me and they have been friends with me through thick and thin.
Musical inspiration
I have always been driven to perfection by Michael Jackson. During my hey days, everything he did became part of my musical gospel. I was shaken from within when I came to know of his death. But, his music will always live on.

All that glitters
I have and always will be the king of bling. For me, gold is not just a style statement — it’s about a certain belief system. As a metal, gold is said to have several auspicious connotations and I believe it has protected me in several unexplainable ways.
Seeing scarlet
Piracy gets on my nerves. Barely anyone has been listening to songs that they have really paid for since the dawn of the new millennium. Downloads and P2P file-sharing sites have literally killed the music industry.
One for the record
Well, I don’t know if someone can beat me to it. But I have composed music for about 53 films starring Mithun Chakraborty. Many of them have been super duper hits and are regarded as cult successes of Indian cinema.
